Help millions of people plan for a safer future

We’re always looking for ways to make our customers’ futures more secure, and our Insurance Products and Financial Planning Solutions teams are at the forefront of that mission. One day they will be helping our 10 million insurance customers to protect themselves and their families, or the next they could be assisting them to plan long-term financial goals. They protect today and secure tomorrow, and now we’re looking for new talent to join their teams across the UK. So, if you’re looking for a career with impact – we have a job for you. And the great news is that you don’t just need a business or finance degree to come and work with us.

YOUR CAREER JOURNEY STARTS HERE
If you’re constantly asking “why?”, focussed and want to collaborate to achieve success, you’ll be a great addition to our Insurance Products and Financial Planning Solutions teams. You’ll help us to understand how we meet our customers’ needs, how we design products to help them and ultimately transform the way we protect their futures.

During three eight-month placements across two years in a variety of locations around the UK, you will make an impact through nationwide projects.

Day to day you could be:

- Leading projects to increase opportunities for the Group
- Identifying trends and making business recommendations to ensure the best outcomes for our customers
- Building products and service and channel propositions to support our customers’ needs
- Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to create new opportunities for our customers
- Learning new leadership skills that will be invaluable for your future career
- Developing your digital skills

AND IT’S BUILT AROUND YOU
People do their best work when they feel happy and valued, that’s why you’ll receive the tools you need to develop the career you want – from mentoring to TED-style talks. We’ll support you to study for a Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Institute of Insurers, and you’ll also have the chance to lead on UK community volunteering initiatives. Through the Insurance Products and Financial Planning Solutions graduate programme, you will build the foundations for a career that will impact 10 million customers across the UK.

As the largest digital bank in the UK we’re dedicated to helping Britain prosper. In 2017 alone, we helped 89,000 people plan for their future, Scottish Widows won Pension Firm of the Year at the FD’s Excellence Awards for the second consecutive year, and we acquired Zurich UK workplace pensions and savings business to create a market leading UK retirement savings business – and this is just the start. As part of the Group, you’ll not only represent Scottish Widows but our other brands too, including Lloyds Bank, Bank of Scotland and Halifax. Our focus is to become the bank of the future, and with over 12 million online and eight million mobile users, we’re constantly exploring how to bring new digital solutions to our customers.

BUT FIRST YOU’LL NEED
A 2:2 degree or above in any discipline from any university. The variety and experiences of our colleagues makes our workplace unique, so we encourage people from every kind of background to apply. It’s important for us, and it shows. Recently, we were named a Times Top 50 Employer For Women, as well as the Best Bank in the World for Diversity and Inclusion at the Euromoney 2017 awards and a Times Top 100 Graduate Employer.

Locations: Our Graduate Programmes are rotational and our Insurance Products and Financial Planning Solutions roles are based nationwide.

Salary: From £28,000 plus a range of great benefits.

We also offer an Actuarial scheme within our Insurance Finance team, under our insurance brand, Scottish Widows. This is not something offered on this insurance programme. For more information  please visit our careers site and search for actuarial roles.
