We are delighted to be able to offer 12 successful undergraduates the opportunity to join us for a Women in Banking Insight Week at Lloyds Banking Group's offices, within our Financial Institutions and Global Corporates client coverage business units.
Why a Women in Banking event?
Being able to attract, develop, fully utilise and retain top female talent is highly important to us, and we recognise that companies with gender diverse senior management teams perform better. For this reason, Lloyds Banking Group has made a commitment to be a leader in gender diversity. In 2014 we made a bold public commitment on gender equality in our Helping Britain Prosper plan – to increase the proportion of senior management roles held by women to 40% by 2020. At the end of 2015, 31% of our senior management roles were filled by women. In 2016, we were among the first signatories to the Women in Finance Charter, which reinforces our Helping Britain Prosper Plan commitment of 40% women in senior management roles.
Ultimately, we want to inspire more women at university to see a great future for themselves in financial services.
